Plantar Fasciitis (overview)

Heel pain or plantar fasciitis was previously something mature adults suffered with. 

However due to the craze of forefoot running (toe - running) we see an explosion of heel pain in the young to younger adults. 

This condition is genuinely spanning age groups as well as the different sexes.

The band known as the plantar fascia starts at the heel and fans out to the toes. The band gets a repetitive yanking from forefoot running/ wearing heels (excessive time on toes) or flattening arches. These poor foot functions lead to inflammation.

The overstressed and now inflamed band has an instinctive reaction to thicken (this happens typically overnight). 

The thickened band now with little bounce ability yanks even more at the heel bone. - Ouch!

This pain is woe to many, and even walking can cause pain once thickened. For many new suffers we offer a protocol of home rehab along with foot arch support and footwear/ rest advice. 

This conservative method (see here) gets most hurt away within 4-8 weeks.
